1.5 How to create a Solution with DGT Networks

DGT can be used in several ways, accounting for a wide range of goals and different business models. The main list of features and their brief descriptions are presented in the table below.

  1. JOIN THE EXISTING NETWORK

1.1

Deploying your node and participating in minting

Any network needs support, such as deploying and running the nodes. Nodes participate in transactions (by validating them) and provide for message delivery. Some of the nodes play such important roles as verifying information coming from the outside world or conducting external payment transactions. When deploying your node, you will be able to claim a portion of the profits earned by the network. To facilitate this, DGT provides for a minting mechanism (distribution of tokens), as well as a commission for ongoing transactions.

1.2

Developing an application for an existing node

End users access their functionality through applications (such as wallets, marketplaces, etc.) that interact with the network through their node’s API. If you want to develop an application, you can choose one of the existing nodes to present it to the end Internet-users.

1.3

Formation of your own network segment

If you want to leverage the potential of the DGT Network while maintaining your own ecosystem or functionality, you should consider deploying a segment. Within the segment, you will be able to form private transactions, manage notaries and arbitrators, as well as set the rules for joining of new nodes to your segment.

2.1

Customizing DGT for your own project

You can use the platform to create your own network or to conduct experiments (accounting for licenses of the core and tokenization – see below). In this case, you deploy the solution on your own computing resources in one of the ways described below.

2.2

Embedding DGT in an existing system

You can use one or more nodes within your network and configure your platform to resolve corporate tasks. DGT allows for a private network or a consortium-based deployment option.

  1. PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

3.1

Code Contribute

Within the framework of the platform development partnership program, you can participate in the creation of the platform core or its components. Detailed instructions are given in DGT Development Contributing section.

3.2

DGT Stakeholding

Apart from direct development, DGT is open to joint research, comparative testing, and design of specific solutions. Your contribution will be considered and rewarded. For all questions, please contact partnership@dgt.world

3.3

DGT Promoting

DGT is interested in promoting projects with decentralized architecture, building solutions for ecosystems and digital communities. If you have any suggestions and ideas or a desire to work in this direction – contact with partnership@dgt.world

When engaging in the use or development of DGT, it is important to take into account the following possibilities and limitations:

  • DGT is an open-source platform, and openness is an integral part of our policy and philosophy. We believe that making the source code available for analysis and modification allows us to consider the interests of all stakeholders and create functional and secure end products. We employ two licenses to facilitate the use and modification of the platform:

  • The core system, which encompasses networking functionality, distributed data synchronization, and topology settings, is implemented under the Apache 2.0 license. This means that you can utilize the system's source code from GitHub at your own risk and freely modify it, including using it in closed proprietary projects. While you are required to maintain a link to the original DGT project, you have the flexibility to create your own products. We encourage direct interaction, providing you with the opportunity to stay updated on our latest developments.

  • The tokenization system known as GARANASKA is implemented as a separate package under the AGPL 3.0 license. This license applies to programs operating in an open network environment. Even if you are not directly using GARANASKA, you can access its source code when interacting with DGT. However, any tokenization systems built upon GARANASKA must be made available as open-source software for community use.

  • DGT does not support participation in closed projects aimed at creating fictitious value through the exploitation or infringement of the rights of individuals or groups. We adhere to principles and values that prioritize transparency, fairness, and ethical practices. For more details on our principles and values, refer to Code of Conduct section.

  • Please note that the DGT platform is still in development. We provide comprehensive guidance on the scientific and technological principles of the platform, enabling you to tailor your own business model. Our open roadmap, outlined in Technology Roadmap section, provides insight into our planned advancements and future milestones.

By considering these factors, you can make informed decisions and leverage the potential of the DGT platform to suit your specific needs and goals.
